MARIO TESTINO on Instagram: "A BEAUTIFUL WORLD, NOH ARTISTS, JAPAN 2019 Noh is one of the oldest and best preserved forms of theatre. As such, it has a legendary sense to it, so full of traditions and stories that go back to almost a thousand years old. I was in awe of some of the costumes I photographed, five hundred years of history in them. Something I find very romantic is that part of Noh tradition, not strictly followed today but still existent, is that being a performer is a job that has to be inherited. Children inherit the right to perform, as the parts and the costumes that have belonged to their families for centuries. _ Noh es una de las formas de teatro más antiguas y mejor conservadas. Como tal, tiene un sentido legendario, lleno de tradiciones e historias que se remontan a casi mil años. Me asombraron algunos de los trajes que fotografié, quinientos años de historia en ellos. Algo que encuentro muy romántico es que parte de la tradición Noh, que no se sigue estrictamente hoy en día pero que aún existe, es que ser un intérprete es un trabajo que tiene que ser heredado. Los niños heredan el derecho a actuar, las partes y los trajes que han pertenecido a sus familias durante siglos."
